Ohio Society State Southwest Director
Rebecca Susan Black Underhill

Rebecca Susan Black Underhill (Becky) became a member of the Granville Chapter, NSDAR, in Granville, Ohio in December of 2006. She is a second generation member of the chapter in which her mother belonged. She has served her chapter as Regent, Corresponding Secretary, and committee chair for parades, Women's Issues, Constitution Week, the US Flag, as well as the editor of the chapter newsletter for seven years. On the state level, Becky has served as Special Project Grants State Chairman. Becky has attended Continental Congress in Washington, D.C. three times where she worked at the President General's sales table.

While not a genealogist (her mom did all the work), Becky does take joy in promoting Education, Patriotism, and Historic Preservation in her community and honoring her heritage. She volunteers her time at the Licking County Food Pantry and works to help the local schools and veterans. Becky, along with the Granville Chapter ladies, work hard to keep the Old Colony Burying Ground beautiful to honor the patriots buried there. She thanks her patriot ancestor, Ichabod Ashcraft, for fighting for the independence she enjoys today giving her the opportunity to serve God, Home, and Country.

Becky and her husband Dave have been married for 31 years and have raised three boys. They reside in Newark, Ohio where Becky recently retired from Newark City Schools working in the Administrative Offices. Dave is self-employed owning his own business.

Becky is a member of the OSDAR Officer's Club, Heritage Club, Hobby Club, the Granville Historical Society and the Newark Elks Lodge # 391.
